According to the Ministry of Health’s announcement at 6pm on January 12, new cases were quarantined immediately after their entry in Thanh Hoa (1), Phu Yen (1), and Tay Ninh (3) provinces.
Case 1516 is female, 24 years old, with address in Kim Son district, Ninh Binh province. On January 10, a patient from Japan entered Noi Bai airport (Hanoi) on flight QH9417, immediately isolated in Thanh Hoa province.
Test results on 11/1 at the Center for Disease Control Thanh Hoa province determined that this woman was positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently, the patient is isolated and treated at Dong Anh Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases (Hanoi).
Case 1517 is male, 24 years old, with address in Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province. Patients from the US transited Incheon (South Korea), then entered Cam Ranh International Airport (Khanh Hoa) on flight VN441 on January 1, isolated right in Phu Yen province. The patient had 2 negative tests against Covid-19 on January 1 and January 6.
The 3rd test on January 11 showed that the patient was suspected to be positive for SARS-CoV-2. After that, results at Nha Trang Pasteur Institute confirmed that this person was positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus. Currently the patient is isolated and treated at Phu Yen General Hospital. Previously, this flight had 11 cases positive for SARS-CoV-2.
Case 1518-1520, aged from 36 to 38. On January 7, these people entered the Moc Bai international border gate, isolated in Tay Ninh province. Test results on 12/1 at the Center for Disease Control Tay Ninh province showed that they were positive for SARS-CoV-2. Currently the patient is isolated and treated at the Tay Ninh Provincial General Hospital.
Regarding the situation of Covid-19 vaccine production in Vietnam, the representative of the Military Medical Academy (Hanoi) said that this morning (January 12), this unit continued to test the Nano Covax vaccine for the first 3 volunteers. third group at a dose of 75 mcg. This group consists of 20 people.
Prior to that, 40 people had tried injections of 25 mcg and 50 mcg on December 17-22, 2020 and December 26-30. After injection, some people have mild fever and pain at the injection site. These reactions all go away after 24 hours. These people are in good health, self-monitoring at home.
The 20 volunteers injecting 25 mcg underwent about 20 days of follow-up. It is expected that in the next few days, they will be given blood for testing and a second injection. Military Medical Academy continues to recruit volunteers to participate in phase 2 clinical trial with the number of about 400-600 people.
